To prevent internal corrosion, scaling and biological fouling all Biotherm products are formulated with long-life inhibitors which exceed ASTM D1384 standards.

Launched in 2010 Biotherm DTX represents a major step forward in heat transfer and pumping efficiency, providing >10% increase in heat recovery when compared with Propylene Glycol based fluids.

  • Summary - Rating: ASuitable for biomass boiler heating systems and other heating applications where a non-toxic classification is preferred. High efficiency and more cost effective than MPG and bio-based coolants.

  • Efficiency - Rating: BHigh thermal conductivity and low viscosity at sub-zero temperatures, results in increased heat transfer efficiency and increased heat recovery.

  • Antifreeze - Rating: AProvides protection down to -50°C and less volume is required to achieve the same freeze-point protection, when compared with MPG based fluids.

  • Corrosion Control - Rating: aLong-Life high temperature rated formulation with synergistic corrosion inhibitors to exceed ASTM D1384 standards. Also contains broad-spectrum biological inhibitors and polyacrylates to prevent scale precipitation.

  • Toxicity - Rating: aClassified as Non-Toxic and Food-Safe. Suitable for systems where low-toxicity is stipulated or preferred.

  • Density:1.11 g/cm³

  • pH:8.0 - 8.5

  • Boiling Point:>100°C

  • Characteristics:a clear, straw coloured, slightly viscous liquid. It is mildly sweet to the taste and has a non-pungent but characteristic aroma.

  • Antifreeze - Rating: BProvides protection down to -50°C but greater concentration (% volume) is required to achieve the same freeze-point protection, compared with Biotherm DTX and BE2.
