Executive (HSE) publish the L8 Approved Code of Practice for the Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems.
This ACOP is very specific in what steps should be taken to reduce the possibility of a legionella outbreak. Any
organisation that operate systems "where
water is used or stored and where there is a means of creating and transmitting water droplets which may be inhaled" are subject to L8 requirements. L8 includes
sections on Cooling Towers and Hot and Cold Water Services & Systems. Directors and responsible managers are
liable to possible prosecution if due diligence in the implementation and maintenance of L8 guidelines has not
been applied. HydraTech provide the experience and expertise to ensure that L8 guidelines are followed, complete
with the necessary documentation provided.
RISK ASSESSMENTS can be carried out to identify problems where L8 guidelines are being breached and how to eliminate
